Why we began

Skincare Built Around Science, Nature and Skin Health

Nourish London was founded in 2011 with a clear belief: people should not have to choose between effective skincare, natural ingredients and affordability.

After decades working in scientific research and cosmetic formulation, Dr Pauline Hili had seen too many products make promises that were not supported by robust evidence. She wanted to create something different: skincare formulated with honesty, purpose and a genuine understanding of how the skin works.

For us, skin is far more than appearance. It is a living, dynamic organ that continually responds to age, lifestyle, wellbeing and the surrounding environment. That understanding shapes every product we create and every piece of advice we share.

Nourish London exists to help people care for their skin with greater confidence. We combine formulation expertise, botanical ingredients and current scientific understanding to create products that support healthier-looking skin over time rather than chasing temporary trends.

The scientist behind the brand

Founded by Dr Pauline Hili

Nourish London was founded by Dr Pauline Hili, a scientist, cosmetic formulator and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry with more than three decades of experience.

Her career has included scientific training in chemistry, biochemistry and human physiology, research into botanical ingredients, a five-year PhD investigating the antimicrobial properties of essential oils and university research exploring collagen, elastin and plant extracts.

Pauline remains closely involved in the business as Founder, Chief Scientific Officer and formulator. Her role is not simply to select fashionable ingredients, but to question whether each material works, whether it is suitable for the skin, how it behaves within the complete formulation and whether it has been sourced responsibly.

That scientific curiosity continues to shape every Nourish London product.

Creating effective skincare is only part of our purpose.

We also want to make skincare easier to understand. The skin changes with age, climate, stress, lifestyle and countless other influences, which means a routine that worked last year may not always be the right routine today.

The aim is not to overwhelm people with complicated terminology. It is to give them enough understanding to make informed choices and care for their skin with confidence.
