Eye Cream explained

The eye area is the most delicate part of our face, this is also where the first signs of ageing appear. Crow’s feet are usually the first wrinkles to form, closely followed by other lines around the eyes.  This is because the skin in this area is thin and dry.   Also, we use our eyes to express emotion so the nearby skin is in constant motion.  Using an anti-ageing cream can counteract problem areas, but if you’re applying eye cream incorrectly, then you might be doing more harm than good. To realize its full benefit, it is important to understand how to apply eye cream properly and then build an eye-care routine into your daily skin care regimen.

1- Wash your face thoroughly to make sure it is clean before starting the application. Dirt, oil, or makeup can prohibit successful results.

2- Take a small amount of your eye cream. You only need a pea-sized dollop for both eyes; any less will not be enough, and any more is generally too much and won’t fully absorb into the skin. Apply every morning and night after your moisturizer.

3- Use your ring finger.
Because your ring finger has the lightest touch, it is less likely to tug or pull at the delicate eye area.

4- Apply above the eye, up to the brow-bone area and under the eye. Most of us only think about the under-eye area, because that’s where the dark circles are, but your entire eye area needs to be moisturized for optimal results!

Start underneath the eye, above your cheekbone and just under the tear duct, and work your way from the inside bottom lid to the outside bottom corner. Continue to apply the eye cream along the length of the top eyelid. Make sure you touch the eyelid itself, the crease line of the eyelid, and the area underneath your eyebrow, known as the brow bone area. Pay attention to any problem areas where you have fine wrinkles or lines, even if those areas extend out from your eye line a bit.

5- Gently tap in the cream to stimulate circulation. Tap the areas dotted by cream with a ligh,t gentle motion to help the eye cream absorb into the skin.

Tips

  • The eye cream needs time to fully absorb into your skin. For best results, you need to wait approximately 15 minutes before applying anything else to the eye area.
  • If crow’s feet are a concern, then make sure to get into the crevices at the corners
  • To extend the life and effectiveness of your eye cream product, store it in an area that is cool and dry, such as your refrigerator.
